"When you begin to think outside the box, you often become some other "leaders" lousy follower. That usually costs something" (Andy Rayner)

"Our guardian angels are bored." (Mike Foster)

It's where I feel I'm at these days. “In the second half of life, it is good just to be a part of the general dance. We do not have to stand out, make defining moves, or be better than anyone else on the dance floor. Life is more participatory than assertive, and there is no need for strong or further self-definition” (Falling Upward. Richard Rohr.120).

Syncretism In Africa

"Twenty-five years ago, Byang Kato pointed out that the greatest theological heresy of the church in Africa was syncretism. We as leaders need to repent. The church growth figures we give out are exaggerated. We claim that Africa is 45 percent Christian. Where do we see their influence on society? Let us assume only 10 percent of them are 'born again.' Sociologists tell us that as few as 2 percent of a population can bring about change in a nation. If we want to see an end to genocidal killings, bondage of women, the AIDS epidemic, and corruption, we must repent and ask God to heal our land."

(General Secretary Adeyemo AE, as quoted above by, Harold Fuller "Africa The Hopeless Continent, EMQ April 2001)
