"When you begin to think outside the box, you often become some other "leaders" lousy follower. That usually costs something" (Andy Rayner)

"Our guardian angels are bored." (Mike Foster)

It's where I feel I'm at these days. “In the second half of life, it is good just to be a part of the general dance. We do not have to stand out, make defining moves, or be better than anyone else on the dance floor. Life is more participatory than assertive, and there is no need for strong or further self-definition” (Falling Upward. Richard Rohr.120).

Honey Liar's Have no Power Here!

A good statement to remind us that we have victory in Christ now, why on earth would we go back to the old life, and believe the old lies again.

Context: After the conquering of Isengard. Sarman came out on the balcony of the tower Orthanc (Which could not be destroyed) and was speaking trying to seduce King Theoden (Of Gondor) over to the side of evil. Eomer, The Kings leading soldier, then said.

"Now we feel the peril that we were warned of. Have we ridden forth in victory, only to stand amazed by and old liar with honey on his forked tongue?"

(Chapter 10 "The voice of Saruman" Page #230)

J. R.R. Tolkien "The Two Towers" (Book #2, Lord of the rings) , 1981, George & Allen & Urwin Pub LTD.

Application Satan seeks to seduce Christians from the truth by his speech. Its not so bad. Your better off if you abandon your principles. No one will know. John 8:44 "You belong to your father, the devil…… He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies."

Revelation 20:10 "And the devil, who deceived them……., was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur,………

Ephesians 4:27 "and do not give the devil a foothold."

2 Timothy 2:26 "and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will."

James 3:15 "Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil."

Resist such Seduction- James 4:7 "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
