"When you begin to think outside the box, you often become some other "leaders" lousy follower. That usually costs something" (Andy Rayner)

"Our guardian angels are bored." (Mike Foster)

It's where I feel I'm at these days. “In the second half of life, it is good just to be a part of the general dance. We do not have to stand out, make defining moves, or be better than anyone else on the dance floor. Life is more participatory than assertive, and there is no need for strong or further self-definition” (Falling Upward. Richard Rohr.120).

Strangers here on earth. Missionaries are true Pilgrims.

"We've embraced the metaphor of pilgrimage for our lives with good reason. Psalm 84:5 and 7 have become our theme verses: "Blessed are those whose strength is in you; -who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion." Being foreigners in this world is the reality for all who follow Jesus. Missionaries may have more daily reminders about our "alien" rank on earth - completing alien registration forms, navigating foreign cultures and enduring homesickness. But our foreign status is not just about travel. It's a pilgrim mindset that entails following God's call beyond our own boundaries and comfort.

Most missionaries have escaped the snares of a settler mentality and have chosen the pilgrim mindset, an eternal perspective
. Abraham and Sarah could make their home in tents because they knew God was preparing a city with foundations for them. They could live as strangers here because they knew they belonged in heaven."
