"When you begin to think outside the box, you often become some other "leaders" lousy follower. That usually costs something" (Andy Rayner)

"Our guardian angels are bored." (Mike Foster)

It's where I feel I'm at these days. “In the second half of life, it is good just to be a part of the general dance. We do not have to stand out, make defining moves, or be better than anyone else on the dance floor. Life is more participatory than assertive, and there is no need for strong or further self-definition” (Falling Upward. Richard Rohr.120).

Utterly Alone In Our Sin. Fake Fellowship Is Normal

This highlights why we we often end up with  a superficial fellowship in most churches. When we are shocked that good church people have problems and sins in their life, we all have to put on the fake face and put the best face forward. If we don't they would not let a one of us on the stage to lead. A person might get caught, or even confess "A" sin. But he will not put all on the table before a church people because he knows it will cost him. It will change how people see him and related to him. We might confess it to a person or two we trust, if we are lucky enough to have even a few, bit we know better than to let it go any further.

The vast majority of us are In fellowships where we are utterly alone in our sin.

<blockquote>"He who is alone with his sins is utterly alone. It may be that Christians, notwithstanding corporate worship, common prayer, and all their fellowship in service, may still be left to their loneliness. The final breakthrough to fellowship does not occur because, though they have fellowship with one another as believers and as devout people, they do not have fellowship as the undevout, as sinners. The pious fellowship permits no one to be a sinner. So everyone must conceal his sin from himself and from their fellowship. We dare not be sinners. Many Christians are unthinkably horrified when a real sinner is suddenly discovered among the righteous. So we remain alone with our sin, living in lies and hypocrisy. The fact is that we are sinners!" ( Dietrich Bonhoeffer) <blockquote>
