"When you begin to think outside the box, you often become some other "leaders" lousy follower. That usually costs something" (Andy Rayner)

"Our guardian angels are bored." (Mike Foster)

It's where I feel I'm at these days. “In the second half of life, it is good just to be a part of the general dance. We do not have to stand out, make defining moves, or be better than anyone else on the dance floor. Life is more participatory than assertive, and there is no need for strong or further self-definition” (Falling Upward. Richard Rohr.120).

Church Leadership Manipulation Leadership As Oppression

I have nothing more to add..... the CEO form of leadership we are promoting in the church today causes me to run.... Do you see my distant ass in the dust? We treat people like they are mindless bimbo's hanging on our every word.
“Leaders who do not act dialogically, but insist on imposing their decisions, do not organize the people--they manipulate them. They do not liberate, nor are they liberated: they oppress.” ― Paulo FreirePedagogy of the Oppressed
“If the structure does not permit dialogue the structure must be changed” ― Paulo Freire
“Any situation in which some men prevent others from engaging in the process of inquiry is one of violence;… to alienate humans from their own decision making is to change them into objects.” ― Paulo Freire

“The oppressors do not favor promoting the community as a whole, but rather selected leaders.” (Paulo FreirePedagogy of the Oppressed)
