"When you begin to think outside the box, you often become some other "leaders" lousy follower. That usually costs something" (Andy Rayner)

"Our guardian angels are bored." (Mike Foster)

It's where I feel I'm at these days. “In the second half of life, it is good just to be a part of the general dance. We do not have to stand out, make defining moves, or be better than anyone else on the dance floor. Life is more participatory than assertive, and there is no need for strong or further self-definition” (Falling Upward. Richard Rohr.120).

Being Shaped By An Institution Is A Grim Thing

"You see I'm not saying that God isn't at work in the midst of these institutions or that some good isn't being done in and through them. I'm simply saying that the source of life is Jesus, not an institution; and no matter how useful you think your institution is, until you understand the difference you will be enslaved to it, and slowly, little by little, you will be consumed by it instead of finding life in him. To be shaped by an institution rather than by communion with him—well, that is a grim thing."
(Gray's conversation with Michael in “The Bastard Tree“ M. V. Lang. Pg 134)
