"When you begin to think outside the box, you often become some other "leaders" lousy follower. That usually costs something" (Andy Rayner)

"Our guardian angels are bored." (Mike Foster)

It's where I feel I'm at these days. “In the second half of life, it is good just to be a part of the general dance. We do not have to stand out, make defining moves, or be better than anyone else on the dance floor. Life is more participatory than assertive, and there is no need for strong or further self-definition” (Falling Upward. Richard Rohr.120).

Adicted to Religion Or Crack... Not Much Difference Really.

Both are lethal. ...

"Somehow, somewhere along the way, my Christianity had become a hamster's squeaky wheel of dos and don'ts (which I commonly referred to as discipIeshi'p) that were wearing me out but not getting me anywhere. I wasn't addicted to crack; I was addicted to religion in a vain attempt to get God to like me, bless me, or at least spare me from hell when it was all over.

It's funny how one can talk a good grace game, but for all practical purposes live by the law. I've learned that the "grace but . . mentality is as lethal as anything you can sniff, toke, or shoot up. I was the nice, church-attending, tithing, checklist-keeping, image- projecting, good-behaving, and emotion-repressing Christian."
