"When you begin to think outside the box, you often become some other "leaders" lousy follower. That usually costs something" (Andy Rayner)

"Our guardian angels are bored." (Mike Foster)

It's where I feel I'm at these days. “In the second half of life, it is good just to be a part of the general dance. We do not have to stand out, make defining moves, or be better than anyone else on the dance floor. Life is more participatory than assertive, and there is no need for strong or further self-definition” (Falling Upward. Richard Rohr.120).

Trained Cowards - Or Free Believers?

"There is profound awareness that the fundamental secret of Jesus was his sovereign respect for human liberty. He never tried to make people virtuous against their will. This is the essential betrayal. The institutional church is untrue to the law of its own “being” whenever it violates freedom. Whenever any authority figure seeks to suppress freedom, he or she is thereby setting himself (however unconsciously) in opposition to Christ and his church. God created us in his own image because he wanted free, responsible service. When the virtue of obedience is reduced to a pattern of domination and submission, we produce trained cowards rather than Christian persons." (Brennan Manning. The Signature Of Jesus)
